Soy, not just for food anymore

Approximately 15 years ago I became a vegetarian and started eating soy products for many reasons. First it was for health reasons then I learned about the animal cruelty part of it and that was it for me. It's been soy for me ever since then. Of course there are people out there that say it's not as healthy as it's made out to be. Well, I'll take my chances. Now I find out that it's not only in our food choices but in many products found around the home. In an article I found recently on CNN News it mentions that you can find soy in many places like the basement. For example, in laundry stain remover and detergent. Soy concrete sealer is used on some floors. Chainsaw oil instead of petroleum. Another part of the home where you might find soy is in the bathroom. There are shampoos, conditioners, skin creams, makeup, soaps, etc. Another interesting place is in the building materials that are used. This was quite interesting to me. Who would have known that the flashing tape that's used on the roof, the chalk and waterproof membranes that stop mold, outdoor paint, wainscoting made from wood-like bio-composite, glue, just to name a few, wood come from a bean.
